File Review

Definition: A tracked and documented secondary review process that can be performed in addition to normal document QC on the items in a study. The process may involve sampled document QC, completeness checks, consistency checks, etc. It may be used for periodic review, pre-inspection review, sponsor oversight, review prior to study lock, or other purposes.
